Korner Kitchen βπ₯
The Perfect Small-Town Breakfast
There's just something about finding a little hometown restaurant that makes breakfast taste even better.
Today we headed over to Korner Kitchen in New Holstein, Wisconsin.
Korner Kitchen is a family-owned restaurant that's been serving the New Holstein community for years, with the kind of atmosphere that makes you feel like you've walked into a place where everyone knows each other. They serve breakfast all day and focus on home-style comfort foodβthe kind of meals that remind you of Grandma's kitchen.
As soon as we walked in, it felt cozy and welcoming. Nothing fancy, just good food and friendly faces.
I ordered the steak skillet, and let me tell you...it was HUGE. Loaded with tender steak, potatoes, eggs, and all the breakfast goodness you could want. It was easily enough for two meals, and I happily packed up the leftovers.
My daughter went with French toast topped with strawberries and whipped cream, which looked almost too pretty to eat. (Almost.) She loved every bite, although her little tummy filled up long before the plate was empty.
My son kept it simple with fresh fruit, bacon, over-easy eggs, and toast so he could dip it into those perfectly runny yolks. If you know him, you know that's his favorite way to eat eggs.
My husband said he wasn't hungry and just ordered coffee...which, let's be honest, is probably the first time that's ever happened at breakfast. π
Everything we ordered was absolutely delicious.
One of my favorite parts wasn't even at the restaurant. When we got home, my daughter still had half of her French toast and fruit left, so I plated it up for my 13-year-old who decided to stay home instead of joining us. It ended up being the perfect second breakfast, and nothing went to waste.
Those are the mornings I love mostβnot because they're extravagant, but because they're simple. Good food, family time, and enough leftovers to make another kid smile a few hours later.
If you're ever driving through New Holstein and looking for a hearty breakfast, I definitely recommend stopping at Korner Kitchen. Just come hungry...or plan on taking half of it home like I did! β€οΈ
