Where to Find the Best Gelato in Green Bay: Sara’s Artisan Gelato ✅

On a surprisingly warm October Saturday, while the big boys were warming up for their soccer game in De Pere, we decided to take the littles on a quick adventure — and our first stop was Sara’s Artisan Gelato in Green Bay. With the heat feeling more like July than fall, a refreshing treat was absolutely necessary! 😅

A Taste of Italy in Green Bay

Sara’s Artisan Gelato brings authentic Italian gelato right to Wisconsin. Founded by Sara Santaga, who studied gelato-making at Carpigiani Gelato University in Bologna, Italy, the shop uses traditional techniques and top-quality ingredients. Real fruit, pure nut pastes, rich chocolate, and locally sourced milk create gelato that’s creamy, flavorful, and truly unforgettable.

🍨 What We Tried

At Sara’s, the choices are endless — and we couldn’t resist sampling a few!

  • Me: The classic Stracciatella — creamy gelato with chocolate shavings, perfectly balanced and dreamy.

  • My daughter: The fun and whimsical Unicorn Batter — colorful, sweet, and fun to eat.

  • My son (and hubby): The tropical Mango Sorbet — bright, fruity, and refreshing, perfect for a hot day.

We also loved that Sara’s offers gelato flights, which let you sample several flavors in one sitting (we would have tried one if we had the two bigger brothers along)— perfect for indecisive kids (and adults!). And for those who want an extra treat, you can build your own ice cream sandwiches : freshly baked cookies hugging creamy gelato, a perfect combo of soft, chewy, and cold.

We enjoyed our treats inside the cozy shop, soaking up the delicious flavors and the cheerful atmosphere. When we left, we made a special detour to drive past Lambeau Field, so the littles could take it all in — and, of course, snap memories-worth-of-gigabytes of pictures on their phones. Their excitement was infectious, and the experience made our day even more memorable! 💚💛💚💛
