Family Fun at Metropolis Resort Eau Claire: Arcade, Water Park & Go-Karts Adventure

Why Metropolis Resort in Eau Claire is the Perfect Family Weekend Destination🚗🎮💦

This past weekend, we packed up the kiddos and hit the road for a little family getaway to Metropolis Resort in Eau Claire, Wisconsin—and it did not disappoint!

Our 12-year-old was especially glad he tagged along this time (and trust me, that’s saying something!). His absolute favorite part? The go-karts. He couldn’t get enough! The kids had a blast racing, laughing, and then heading straight to the arcade, where the fun literally never stopped.

Now, a few years back we actually booked to stay overnight at Metropolis, but when we got there, both the water park and arcade were closed—major bummer. So this time, we came prepared and made sure to check the hours ahead of time (which I highly recommend doing before you go!).

💡 Pro Tip: Try to plan your stay from Thursday to Friday if possible. You’ll beat some of the weekend rush, and it’s the perfect little midweek escape.

At the front desk, we grabbed discounted arcade passes, checked in right at 3 PM, and got those liability papers signed so the kids could start playing right away. From the second they swiped their cards, it was game on! Between bumper cars and endless arcade games, the kids were racking up tickets faster than I could keep track. They even decided to pool their tickets together to score matching Squishmallow pineapples—the ultimate sibling teamwork moment! 🍍💛

While the kids played, I snuck off to the pizza counter right inside the arcade. They have a dill pickle pizza that caught my eye (and if you know me, you know I had to try it). It was a total hit—the kids devoured it the second we got back to the room!

For a little mom treat, I grabbed a concrete mixer from the Dairy Queen connected to the arcade. Meanwhile, my husband was ready for something heartier, so I popped over to City Eats, where I ordered Korean beef tacos, chicken tacos, and Captain Morgan butterflied shrimp (the hotel desk actually gives out coupons when you check in—one of them even covered a free appetizer 👏).

The kiddos played in the arcade from 4 to 7 PM, and once dinner was ready, we brought everything back to the room for a mini feast. Five minutes later, all the food was gone—no leftovers in sight!

After that, we hit the water park before it closed at 9 PM. Floating the lazy river, zipping down the slides, and just soaking up every drop of fun. Since the next morning’s pool hours didn’t include the slides or lazy river, they made sure to get their fill that night!

When the pool closed, it was baths, a little TV time, and then lights out for everyone.

The next morning, they were right back at it—shooting hoops in the basketball pool, testing their balance on the lily pads, and laughing as the huge water bucket dumped water over them. It was the perfect ending to a short but sweet getaway.

Checkout was at 11:00, so we took our time packing up and saying goodbye to a place full of laughter, splashes, and memories.

If you’re looking for a family-friendly resort that combines adventure, arcade fun, and relaxation all under one roof, Metropolis Resort in Eau Claire is worth every minute of the trip. Just don’t forget to double-check the arcade and pool hours before you go—and maybe try that dill pickle pizza while you’re at it! 😉🍕
