π Pumpkin Rice Krispies: A Fun Fall Treat with the Kids! π
Fall is officially here, and what better way to celebrate than with a fun, kid-friendly kitchen project? The kiddos and I had a blast making Pumpkin Rice Krispiesβand yes, they were just as delicious as they were adorable!
We started by melting marshmallows and butter together, then added a splash of orange food coloring. The kids were in charge of mixing it all upβmessy hands, big smiles, and lots of giggles included. Once the Rice Krispies were coated, we shaped them into little pumpkins.
The finishing touches were my favorite part: Tootsie Rolls for the pumpkin stems and a dab of green frosting to give each one a leafy flair. These little pumpkins turned out perfect for a fall snack, a Halloween treat, or even a centerpiece for a kidsβ party!
Pumpkin Rice Krispies Recipe:
Ingredients:
6 cups Rice Krispies cereal
4 cups mini marshmallows
3 tbsp butter
Orange food coloring
Tootsie Rolls (for stems)
Green frosting (for leaves)
Instructions:
In a large pot, melt butter over low heat. Add marshmallows and stir until completely melted.
Add a few drops of orange food coloring and stir until evenly colored.
Remove from heat and stir in Rice Krispies cereal until fully coated.
Let the mixture cool slightly, then shape into small pumpkin shapes with your hands.
Press a Tootsie Roll into the top of each pumpkin for a stem.
Add a small dab of green frosting for leaves.
Let them set for a few minutes, then enjoy!
These little pumpkin treats are a perfect way to get the kids in the kitchen and make memories that are as sweet as the dessert itself. π
